Question about Hpv & Pregnant? |
I was just wondering, My Obgyn told me I tested positive for a mild case of HPV and since I am under 21 ( also under 18 ) my anti-bodies will fight it off alone and in 1 year I will go back for another pap-smear to make sure it is gone. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant ( 3 months ) and was worried but also told It will not affect my pregnancy and everything will be fine. Please nothing rude I have been with my boyfriend for 1 year and a half and are taking this very seriously. It is a virus. It should be fought off in a couple of weeks, depending on your immune system. I had Hpv for almost 1 year, I used to see my OB every 3 months for a pap ( We tought it will go away by itselft and It didn't). After 1 year I had to had a LEEP done to remove the bad cells. I got pregnant on February and I had a m/c . I had the LEEP done on March 07. After my pap came out negative for 3 currents months . I waited 6 months to try again I got pregnant on Sep. 07 I had another m/c. I had my period on October 14th 07 and then I didn't have one by November I was pregnant. I'm 38 weeks pregnant with a little girl. I'm so happy after everything ....... hpv doesn't go away it lays dormant and if you get sick or become immune suppressed you will have another bout of it first and foremost there are many types of hpv high risk and low risk you must get a coloposcopy to determine what kind of lesion you have and then subsequently get a pap every 6 mos until it comes up negative PS the human papaloma virus can hide physical symptoms for long periods of time up to 3 mos and genital warts that are ascocated with hpv can lye dormant for a while too but your pregnancy can cause more lesions to appear and you can trans mit your infection to your child if you are having an out break they can get it all over there body even in there trachea and lungs that is a dangerous and deadly form so if you have your baby vaginally make sure you are not in an out break good luck to you i wish you the best but remember there is no cure yet hpv is one of the most silent contributors to cancer and long term female health problems my sister had cervical cancer from hpv and has 4 beautiful kids but make sure you get a second opinion if that quack is telling you it is a mild case and it will go away it is for life it only goes dormant most people never have problems so if diagnosed early any thing can be made better HPV is a very very common virus. there are 52 diffrent strains. this will not affect your baby. ther eis no knowing how long if ever you will fight off the virus. also keep in mind that your boyfriend has the virus as well since you have been a=having sex. |
