Can you get HPV by having sex?

if you can how can you pervent your partner from getting it from you!!
can you still get it with out haveing sex!!

You can get HPV from sex, and also from other sexual activity with intimate contact (genital rubbing or activity causing friction).

HPV is also harmless in the vast majority of cases. Often, our immune systems will clear the infection within a few years of getting it. In the case of wart-causing strains, there are treatments.

Because of how common HPV is, it is important for women to receive regular pap smears to detect for cellular changes due to HPV (pre-cancerous abnormal growth). If a woman keeps up with her routine pap tests, it is unlikely that HPV will cause a problem (cervical cancer), unless she is HIV+ in which case management/screening/treatment becomes more troubled.

You can not get a STD without exchanging some form of bodily fluids, whether it is from contact with an open sore ( by just touching ) or sex!
