I found out that i have strings of HPV, im a little nerous about the situation. can my husband catch HPV? |
how often are you suspose to get an pap?? is it once a year, or every 6months?? If you have HPV then your doctor should have told you if it is low risk or high risk. If it is low risk then you may only get genital warts (which can be removed), if it is high risk then it puts you at risk for cervical cancer. Usually with high risk HPV they will send you for a Colposcopy, which is where they take a small piece of your cervix and biopsy it for cervical changes. The procedure doesn't take too long and is uncomfortable but doesn't hurt too bad. If they see anything they will let you know and tell you the next steps to take. There are lots of different HPV strains -some cause warts and some can cause cervical cancer (or initially, change sin cervical cells, which is what a pap test detects. If anal intercourse is practised, an anal Pap test should also be done. The frequency of the tests will depend on your family history and your doctor's opinion of other possible risk factors. yes he can, but usually it doesn't affect males as it does females, and there is nothing that can really be done for the males who contract HPV. If you do have HPV, your doctor will let you know how often you should be screened for cervical cancer let me ease u a little bit....when i found out i freaked....7 out of 10 women have it....it doesn't really harm guys unless u have the strain that causes genital warts....certain strains ur body can even fight off and kill....some strains cause cervical cancer. They are still researching this disease because they dnt know a lot about it....but if ur under 26....get the guardasil shot....cause even though u have it it could protect u against the more harmful strains |
