Have you gotten the gardasil HPV vaccine?

are you glad you got it done? I just got my first dose and I'm scared out of my mind because I read that it has caused so many adverse effects (paralysis, death, sterility, etc. ) and the long-term effects are unknown.

there is no way i'm going in for my second dose :/

I got it and I'm fine. I hated it because it made my arm spasm all weird when I was trying to drive, but other then that it didn't bother me at all.

My sister and my best friend have gotten it, too. And, my sister's arm didn't even spasm. She was totally fine. All vaccines carry a risk of stuff like that because you could have an allergic reaction or something. They wouldn't be advertising it and selling it if it wasn't safe for people.

Plus, check out the stuff it guards against. I'd take the vaccine risks anyday compared to things like cervical cancer!

I have gotten the vaccines, so hasn't my friend. I finished the series in Feb. and I'm fine, and my friend finished in Dec. and she's fine. If you have gotten the first one, you should be totally fine. No allergic reaction. And I was willing to take the side affect risks because two out of my three older sisters have gotten HPV before and it's too late for them to get the vaccine, they are in their late 20's and early 30's.
Good Luck.

Relax. My doctor talked to me and my mom about and I am going in for my last dose this month. I had no side effects accept for my arm hurting a little but every shot does that to your arm. In my opinion you should finish getting your doses and if you dont want to after that then dont. The side effects happen if you stop getting your doses because once your body is injected once it will have bad reactions if you dont get the complete dosage.

Then your first shot was for nothing if you don't get the remaining 2 shots. My beautiful daughter-in-law (30 years old) died last July from cervical cancer. She left behind a 12 year old daughter - her other Grandma and I didn't waste a second getting her in to get her vaccinated. If the vaccine had been around years ago, my daughter-in-law would still be with us.

please go back and finish the series.....it you didn't have any reaction from the first shot...you'll be fine...talk to your doctor.

I haven't. It's too new, I like to know the long-term effects of something before I try it. I've seen that girls are having problems with their periods afterwards, and I'm thinking I don't want any of that!

i got it. i am fine.
