I was wondering if it is possible to have genitle warts without HPV??? |
I have had two relationships this past year, an both of them have had tests for HPV and came back negative. However I have always been faithful but I have noticed some bumps on my penis and I never really thought much of it but there is more poping up. I dont know if it is cause I shave but the bumps look very similar to warts?? Someone please help me cause I dont know what to do or who to contact as far as who I may have contracted the diease from or if it is even warts... First, genital warts are caused by certain strains of HPV. Warts can accumulate around the base of the penis, but the bumps could be shaving bumps, or perhaps hair folicules. I believe one test method is to apply vinegar to the "warts" and if the area turns white, it is a sign that the bump *may* actually be a wart. Other than that, the only sure way would be to visit a doctor. I believe there are free STD clinics as well. It might be pearly papules. Pearly penile papules, a condition which causes pin-headsized outgrowths arranged neatly in rows on the base of the head of the penis may be mistaken for genital warts. They are not warts nor genital warts, they are harmless and do not require treatment. Hope this helps. Go here (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co... for pictures.
