I was just told today by my mother that I had Condyloma (HPV) |
I am 37 weeks and 3 days and I was just told by my mother that I had and was treated for Condyloma (HPV) when I was 8 years old. I underwent laser surgery while my parents where stationed overseas in Germany. I can not get a copy of my medical records and now I am scared that I will be unable to have my baby with out a C section. I've tried looking up information on line about Condyloma and pregnancy but have been unable to find anything. Anyone out there with any information on this. Please help. Thanks No I have not told my OB. I just found out today myself. A little background. I was raped with I was a child and I really dont remember a lot of my childhood and somethings we just never talk about as a family. So I was given this information today by my mother who thought I should know because I am so close to my due date. Thanks The greatest risk of transmitting it to your baby is if you are suffering from an outbreak at the time of delivery.... It is something you should discuss with your OBGYN to determine the best solution... frankly I would think you are lucky because now there is a reason to have a C-section which is much easier and has less risk to you suffering from things like incontinence after the birth. A C-section isn't that big a deal and doesn't really result in much of a scar if that is your fear. A good doctor will do it so that any scar is righ at the bikini line. They are much better now than they were 30 years ago. Tell your doctor. They can do a test to see if you currently have it. Some strains of HPV go away on their own. I am guessing you have told this to your doctor. If not, you need to because he/she will know what is best for you and your unborn child. |
