Women ONLY to answer serious answers needed..HPV??

I am 32yrs old. Has anyone tested positive for HPV? I had my annual exam and my PAP was normal but I tested positive for HPV and was told I was @ slightly higher risk for cervical cancer. I've been getting PAPs for about 13 years and this is the first time i've ever had anything wrong. The clinic told me I need to just wait til my next exam(1yr from now) and see if my body takes care of it on its own. Overall i am healthy I dont smoke drink or do drugs and ive only had 5 partners in 13 years(4years with current guy)They told me Folic Acid could help in the healing process..my QUESTION is : has anyone taken or perhaps not taken folic acid, been diagnosed positive for HPV and then at the next exam a year later test come back clean?? I am freaking out so any reassurement would be great!!

I was diagnosed a few years ago, I had a mildly irregular pap. This was the reason they did the HPV test, they don't do it routinely there I guess. I got a colposcopy, the cells were slightly off but not enough to treat. They had me come in for a pap at six months instead of a year, but they didn't test for the virus again, they just checked for irregular cells. At the one year mark it was okay so they said to go back to the once a year regular pap and so far they have been normal. But they didn't test for the virus again. At my next pap I am thinking about asking specifically for the test because I have also been told by nurses, a doctor, and a professor, that your body will often clear the virus in a couple of years, particularly the ten or so strains that are the cancer-causing, no-visible-symptoms type. (But they sounded like they usually don't bother to check because all they are concerned about is the pap smear, since that will supposedly be the first sign of any problems so it really doesn't matter if you are still carrying the virus or not from that standpoint).
They didn't say anything about folic acid though, but I have read of that as being helpful with bacterial vaginosis, which supposedly may also have some connection with irregular cervical cells.
Well, they say most people carry it and it's easy to pass around even with condoms. But don't freak out because your outcome could very easily be the same as mine, which has been no problems since the initial couple of irregular paps. Good luck!

Folic Acid does nothing. I don't know where you heard that from, but nothing gets rid of HPV.
It stays in your body forever. It may go dormant, but you have it for life.
