So what do poeple do when they get HPV, regarding they're love life?

Are you expected to just never fall inlove and have sex, never have kids... cause if you told someone you have HPV they're not gonna say oh thats ok, so Em i condemned to live alone just because some ***** didn 't want to tell me what she had....How does it all work...

HPV (human papilloma virus, genital warts) or herpes virus? HPV contributes to cervical cancer in woman and penile cancer in men, but most people who catch it clear the infection within a couple years (usually just months, although some people may become persistantly infected). HPV is extremely common. Herpes virus is also common, about 20% of people have it, and is a life-long infection.

If it is herpes, talk to your doctor about medication to reduce outbreaks and shedding of the virus. Let your partner know you have herpes and use condoms. If it is HPV also let your partner know and use condoms, but women can also protect themselves by getting the Gardasil vaccine against some cancer-causing HPV strains. If it is HPV you might get tested in a couple years and find out you no longer have it.

Anonymous: No, I did not get it all mixed up, please read carefully. I distinguished between HPV and herpes. You might try reading rather than skimming before commenting on others' thoughts. That will help prevent responses contributing nothing by repeating exactly what the other person already said.

Beetle has it all mixed up. HPV is NOT herpes. It's common name is warts, and the one you usually worry about is genital warts.
There is a vaccine for it, it's called Gardasil, ask your doctor about it. It's only approved for women but it's expected to pass for men soon.

HPV is not necessarily a lifelong infection, nor is it rare. Roughly 80% of sexually active adults have either had or have genital warts. And it is not uncommon for a person's immune system to kill off the virus in a matter of a year or two.

What do you do when you get HPV? Well you can wear a condom to help keep it from spreading. You can go to your doctor and periodically have any warts removed. And you can get the Gardasil shot so you don't contract any other strains of it.
