Hpv severe displasia...have you had it come back? other things happened to you? what about having children?

i have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half and we are gettin married someday (by his account) and just before i went to the doctor he decided to tell me that one of his ex girlfriends might have had it...well surprise so do i and its pretty severe so now im just wondering what all might happen and any other information yall guys might have

thanks a bunch

From what I've gathered bc I have HPV & my dumb doctor's office didn't tell me what stage dysplasia I have--I won't know until the 18th, I've gathered a ton of research...and my cousin had the severe kind also...so I've been depending on her for info too..

Is Dysplasia is NOT cancer..It can turn into caner if left alone & untreated for YEARS...HPV is super common, so don't feel alone or dirty..I did until I told some of my friends (who my surprise ALL had it.) Just remember to follow up on your dr's appointments and their advice...

The dysplasia will be dealt with accordingly after you have a colposcopy & biopsy( im told this doesnt hurt as much as some website say..just a small pinch & a crampy sensation for a few minutes.) after that your doctor can decide which therapy to use to destroy the abnormal cells on your cervix..All of these cause discomfort & are going to suck, but its better than letting turn into cancer..(which takes a LONG time bc this is a slow growing cancer)

The treatments can be the cryosurgey-which i don't think they use all that much anymore...LEEP or LLETS procedure where the scrape off part of your cervix-this is much more common to have..or a cone biopsy- where you go to the hopsital and they take a part of your cervix that's a bit larger.

as far as having kids, this shouldn't affect you too much..the treatments are what can cause the issue such as if they take too much of your cervix you may have a higher chance of having a preterm baby or miscarriage..but even so you shoul be monitored through your pregnancy(whenever it happens) and they should check the measurements of your cervix, bc they can add a stitch to your cervix to help keep the baby in!

Sorry you have this too..Sucks that guys are retarded and don't realize the need to tell their partners when their ex's come back and tell them- "HEY I HAVE HPV..." it's annoying but their guys..my fiance was convinced that I gave it to him or I had it first bc he ALWAYS used condoms with his ex's...hahaha hpv can be trasmitted even with condoms and NOW he knows..lol..guys are dumb!

HPV is a very common virus. Many people carry it most don't know they have it.

This website will help you understand how HPV causes abnormal cell changes...and what treatments may be necessary.

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/under...

Since your dysplasia is severe your doctor will probable recommend a treatment.

Has your doctor done the colposcopy? This will verify the degree of the virus on your cervix.

Most often having HPV doesn't interfere or prevent you from getting pregnant...some treatments may cause some problems...your doctor will help you understand the risks that may be involved with whatever treatment he recommends.

A good diet with lots of fruit and veggies may help your body fight the virus...also getting good rest...stress does seem to be and added risk factor...exercise...and limiting alcohol...all help.

You and your partner will not ping pong the virus back and forth...you both share your HPV type or types....even though he doesn't show any signs or symptoms. Even though you both share your virus..condoms may help in the regression of the virus鈥ost importantly after a treatment. Condoms are not forever...just until you get a clear Pap or two.

It will be important for you to follow your doctor鈥檚 recommendation for follow-up visits.

I wish you well.
