Is HPV re-trasnferable?

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I never really thought about it... I have high risk HPV which has progressed to level 2 changes so I'm going into my OBGYN next week to get a LEEP procedure. Stupidly, because I'm on the pill, I had unprotected sex with my most recent boyfriend a few times. After I have this procedure, I'm assuming I'll still be infected with HPV, but if we ever had unprotected sex again, would I be at risk of making my condition worse again by him constantly reinfecting me? I'm not sure how this all works, so any help is appreciated.

No, you can't be re-infected.

But studies have shown that you can clear your body faster if you use condoms. It's thought that this is because some of the virus in your partner's body moves on over to yours, increasing your viral load and making the HPV harder to fight. So I recommend using condoms until you test HOV negative.

Some doctors subscribe to the "once you have it, you have it" philosophy, but it's important that you keep getting re-tested for HPV. Insist on it. The virus will reduce to indectable levels in your systems, and you will test negative. This is a very good sign. Your HPV can "reactivate," but this is pretty rare.

No once you are treated for it you become immune to that strand of HPV, so it can't be given back to you. BUT, there are about 12 (i think) different strands or types of HPV that you ARE NOT immune to. So don't think just cause someone else has hpv if you have unprotected sex with them that you can't get it cause it's more than likely not the same type you have. Just use a condom, they're not that bad.

No, it doesn't work that way. If it were something like syhpillis or gonorrhea that would be the case but not with HPV.

i have a very close friend with HPV she also had this proceedure and it turned out well. Although, her Specialist told her that she will ALWAYS have it and never can completely cured and she will need to take extra special care of herself and extra care for any intercourse she will have with ANYONE in the future. Your partner will always be at risk to get it. As far as having unprotected sex with the person who gave it to you, You should NOT. If he is carrying and gave it to the bacteria can grow in the scrotum from this and turn into a superinfection in which case you can get infected worse and the results can be devastating. Dr's say it is not a really big deal and but in our group of friends our 24 year friend passed away last year due to HPV and a superinfection. She was not permiscoius she just listened to her DR and it got worse and she was unable to survive it. She was a generally healthy person who did not smoke and didn't drink and took pride in being healthy and was just married to the love her life. He had it , gave it to her and they were trying for a baby....and her dr told her no need to use condoms, she didn't and now we have lost her. The Dr was sued by her family, but no money can bring her back to us.
So please be careful, Use protection and remeber oral sex is usually done w/out any protection which is the same. Take Care Friend

That's not a stupid question at all. You won't make your condition worst again. Even after your procedure you'll still be infected, you'll most likely always be infected unless they come up with something that cures it. Which probably don't happen in our lifetime. Don't go around having unprotected sex please, now your partner is infected with a life long STD, and the most common HPV virus being genital warts I'm sure him or her won't be happy about that, assuming you haven't told him or her you have this STD. Selfishly your asking if it'll make it worst for you? Not really considering how this person is going to feel when they find out. If your partner is a guy, he probably won't find out, and if he already has the tendency to have unprotected sex he'll do it again and again infecting lots of girls who are very sadly going to have this life long burden on them. Sorry if being brutally honest has offended you I just think its wrong for you to do that to someone else. Who most likely doesn't even know whats happened to them.
