Hpv question regarding sleeping with a current partner...?

hi i was just wondering if any of you know the answer to this...
if you test positive for pre-cancerous cells and you have the same partner where it be a husband or a boyfriend you have been with for years. if you get treated to have the pre-cancerous cells removed. would you more than likely be at risk of getting the high risk hpv off them again as your sleeping with them all the time and whatever you have had originally hpv wise they will have already got it from you. does anyone know where you will be at high risk of getting cancer or anything? thanks

Okay, so your precancerous cells were removed, but that did not cure your HPV. Your body has to figt off the HPV on it's own. Removing the bulk of the bad stuff helps your body out a lot.

Each strain of HPV is like the chicken pox: you get it once and that's it. But HPV can live dormant in your system forever. It can recur and cause more problems, but that is unlikely. (Just like chicken pox can reactivate and cause shingles, which again, is pretty unlikely.)

It is safe to assume that both you and your partner share all the same HPV strains. He cannot reinfect you, so a lot of doctors will just say "go for it" and keep having all the sex you want. However, a couple of studies have shown that you can fight off the virus faster if you either abstain from sex or use condoms. It's thought that when you have sex, some of the virus from his body moves on over to yours, increasing your viral load and making the HPV harder to fight.

So, after you've had a lot of the virus removed from having the precancerous cells removed, it is a great time to give your body it's best chance to fight this off quickly. Use condoms until you test HPV negative. (Many doctors will also tell you that HPV testing is unnecessary because "you have it" but the test requires a certain amount of the virus present to detect. You should demand an HPV test at every future appointment. You should be followed more closely if it's positive, even if your pap is normal.)

You should also know that for most women the precancerous cells never come back. Sometimes women require a second removal of precancerous cells, but this RARELY is a continuing problem.

So, no matter what you do, whether or not you use condoms, chances are this will never return and you will be fine for forever!
