Does HPV decrease the chance of becoming pregnant?

I asked this question on the STD section and did not get many answers. So i will try in this section.

I been researching HPV (human papilloma virus). I know there are more than 100 different types. So does any type of HPV decrease your chance of becoming pregnant? I only found information about if you are already pregnant.

I'm not trying to conceive, I'm writing a paper thats why I asked. I know the facts about it, I just could not find information on how it may or may not affect becoming pregnant

I actually have the stupid std. They say about 90% of sexually active people under 25 have it. I was never told that it decreased the chances of getting pregnant- I have had 2 pregnancies since being told but I could just have a lesser degree of one. If you wanted some more reliable info go to the clinic and pick up a brochure. It should say in there. I know that it can lead to cervical cancer and in that even it may take away the possiblility so you could go with that.

I don't think so. I have HPV but it "went away" without any treatment. I have a one year old now.

If you get cervical cancer from HPV they may have to remove parts of the cervix. Without a cervix, your uterus cannot support the weight of the amniotic sac and a miscarriage is inevitable. So I guess my answer would be that STAYING pregnant and carrying full-term would be impossible if cancer was involved.

yes it does. some forms of HPV cause tumors, which can scar where ever the tumors grow. HPV is very serious because it can cause so much damage to the female reproductive system. any man can carry HPV, but most of the time they do not have symptoms. so it's important to know the sexual history of the man you are sleeping with.

I found out that I had HPV in February 2007. I got pregnant the middle of February with my son, whom is now 17 months old. I am now 4 months pregnant with my 3rd.
Did it affect my chances?

At least 80% of women will become or are already exposed to the hpv. It's very common and I wouldn't worry about it.
