How long can a person carry the HPV virus before it is detected? |
How long can a person carry the HPV virus before it is detected? I believe 30 days to 3 months. If you are a female you should be getting annual Pap Smears which is the test that is used to detect HPV. Your doctor would be notifiying you if the test came back with any abnormal cells found. If you are male there is no test used to detect HPV . HPV ultimately leads to genital warts in males/ females and in females can also lead to cervical cancer. If you see a bump or wart like lesions have it looked at --it could be caused by HPV. Females always have your pap smears done and Always use condoms. up to 30 yrs before mental illness occurs When I was diagnosed, my doctor said it can lie dormant for years. Many years,it may be latent for many years. its present warts u get on skin. most of da times its not malignant. rarely it turns into cancer i dont think that u get mental illness with it yearssssssssssss Infected carriers of HPV can be asymptomatic for their entire life. However, most people who do get visible warts will get them within 2 years after contracting them. Or so our best guess would lead us to believe... It's kind of difficult to say for sure, since an estimated 35-90% of the sexually active population in the US has gential warts. Basically, if you've had sex with at least a few people you've probably got HPV, even if you've never actually had visible warts. |
