Is there a blood test to detect hpv?

No. Most women are diagnosed with HPV on the basis of abnormal Pap tests.

There is no test to detect HPV in men. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had HPV for 6 years. I have had both cervical cancer and genital warts from it.
I believe it's actually done through a papsmear, unless you're a dude. Are you a dude? Then I'm not sure how they know.

Yes there is a blood test. Theres a place you can tick off for HPV testing but usually this is more costly thats why they kill 2 bird with one stone and do it will u have your annual papsmear. It cost more money to do any blood work processing than the rest...
