Why don't conservatives oppose health insurance companies, which are socialistic in nature? |
Do supply and demand set the price of pharmacueticals and healthcare services? Yes - the biggest argument against 'socialized medicine' is rationed care and lack of choice - which is exactly what we get with the insurance companies. there is no a easy solution for your question.however,it is not solvable though.here is the good resource i have been referring.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/... It's a business where people pay for a service/coverage. Just like auto insurance or life insurance. They are not socialist I'm a liberal Democrat myself, but I don't see how insurance companies are socialistic in nature. After all, people pay money to be insured and in the process provide profits for the insurance company execs and employees. Have you seen Ron Paul's health plan? Put aside the election for a moment and just write a letter to your reps to support it - it is ALREADY in Congress. It does oppose health insurance companies and returns control to the patient. Every dollar of health payments of any sort would be tax deductible, employer accounts would get interest tax free to you, etc etc. Insurance companies aren't the problem the problem is government regulation, I have to pay for autism coverage and acupuncture, yet I don't need either, but some people in my state do, so we all have to pay for it. They are a business and they sell a service which we buy and is not paid for by the government. Sounds more capitalistic than socialistic to me. I don't think any of the people that have answered get it. It is socialist in nature. We pay a premium for something we may/may not need. However, we are covering the cost of someone who does need it, e.g., gets into an accident. They are socialist in nature because of government regulations. If you are concerned about this you should advocate the repeal of government regulations in the health industry. What makes them socialist? Since when is the insurance industry socialistic? The only way I could think of it even being slightly socialistic is if the only insurance companies allowed were owned by the state. |
