A new plan for the health insurance companies?

My insurance just went up again. They said it was to help cover the uninsured! Now they have a whole new list of people that can't afford it again, so they'll be raising it again soon. How about if we put a tax on the money that is being wired out of the country back to Mexico! I was standing behind a man that was wiring $2000.00 back to his country!

Why should we have to pay higher insurance premiums so they can use part of our money to cover the uninsured. Isn't that the same as the taxation without representation that started the American way of life today? We wouldn't stand for it then, and we shouldn't now.

It is a shame that the ridiculous price of insurance premiums has caused you to be uninsured.
Thanks for the vote.
Good luck! Report It

here s a better idea, lets just eliminate the wire transfers back to mexico, by deporting all illegals

It is always attractive to try to come up with some scheme to get someone else to pay for our costs.

The simple matter of taxing transfers out of the country will very quickly be circumvented when people figure out that they can buy things from Mexico, even a letter from home, for a few thousand dollars.

Should people be picking up the cost to subsidize insurance for the poorest? Or should we simply have hospital emergency services available on a pay-if-you-can basis?

Whichever way we go, we will need to expect that those in need of care will be cared for, and at our cost.

Demand for a health care system like that in Canada is likely to come to a head, and in that system we can expect that a very basic standard of care will be paid for, free to all, from tax revenues.

The Canadian system is the low cost way to provide at least a basic standard of care, not just for the very poor, but for everyone. It leaves to private insurance whatever extras people are willing to pay for. We Canadians often criticize our system because it is a bit too basic, does not cover procedures we wish it did, specialized pharmaceuticals. But almost nobody wants to drop the basic care strategy, and nobody wants to pay the cost of open-ended care.

How about we stop having all these government regulations on insurance company's that make everyone in the system pay for the uninsured.

Government is the problem. If health insurance was like car insurance there would be much less problems.

We need FREE MARKET price controls back in the system.

Most of the illegals that I worked with were just in the country to work for 3-5 years and their wife stayed in Mexico. The employer knew they were illegal and could even call a temp service that was all illegals. We have an illegal employer problem, they come here because they know Americans will hire them.
