Health Insurance is a scam!?

Why is it that it seems like the insurance companies can control what kind of care I need?

I go to the doctor and I need a minimum of 4 weeks of treatment and they will only pay for 3 days?

I pay out of my butt for the top of the line insurance at my job and still I get them telling me what I can and cant do!

Insurance companies don't control what kind of care you need--it's what your employer purchases! The insurance will only pay for what is covered in the policy, and they are limited by the benefits covered by the premium that the employer chose. Employers also need to look at the big picture and try to get the best coverage for their employees that they can without "breaking the bank" of those employees.

Keep in mind, employers are not obligated to provide you with health insurance and chances are, if YOU tried to get the same coverage on your own, it would cost you ALOT more.

I hear ya, its funny how all these right wingers tell how good it all is but yeah, its like "Thats a pre exsisting condition" " we don't cover that" . Don't even get me going on my prescription insurance.

Its like, if they cover it, it seems like a blessing. I just hope that nothing ever serious happens to me. I haven't been to a doctor in probably 2 years cuz my PPO makes me pay out of pocket till I reach 400$ then its 80/20. So a Doctors visit is like 100$. I still do keep the basic insurance, I see it as bankruptcy protection.

If you have an HMO, that's the trade-off for a low/no deductible plan.

They aren't telling you what you can do. They're telling you what they will PAY for. WAY different thing. Go ahead and get the four weeks of treatment. Just pay the difference. Ask the doc to work out a cash price for all the uncovered treatments.

Shop around for different insurance.
