Health Insurance- Have they ever paid for foregoing treatment? |
Let's say that you are diagnosed with terminal cancer. The cost of treatment if aggressively pursued could exceed a million dollars. Has anyone ever heard of a case wherein the insurance company paid a settlement to someone who decided to forego treatment (thereby saving the insurance company a million bucks) in exchange for a cash settlement of some lesser amount. That is a very intersting concept. No, I have never heard of it being implemented. I am sure they would have a lot of takers among the elderly, but Medicare eats that expense. |
