I need health insurance, but not sure what to choose. Help?

I work as a contractor and I need to do a physical check up and some other testing. Any one know of a good afordable health plan online?

Blue Cross Blue Shield is the one I went with, they were the cheapest but I still pay 275 a month for insurance.

Try moneysupermarket.com or another price comparison sites.
If you do a risky job, make sure your policy will cover all work related accidents and illness resulting from it.
Many policies now offer reduce gym memberships so your fitness level can affect how much you pay.

Also some cover dentistry and glasses, so shop around.

if you need just one or two things, then maybe skipping the health insurance and paying out of pocket might be better for you. also, with so many people uninsured, many clinics have sprung up in cities that see people for free or reduced fees. remember, insurance is a business and you often get what you pay for. as a contractor, i'm sure you know this.

Go to http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ to compare different plans. You can even do short-term insurance if you want.

Kaiser apparently has affordable plans. You may want to look into it.
