Employer Changing health insurance plan while I'm pregnant. Question about insurance?

I am due in mid July and my employer is changing insurance companies June 1st. My current health insurance company (coventry) includes everything even delivery. We are changing to Aetna open access managed choice POS. I have tried to find out what their maternity benefits are but no one will answer me. I have not had to pay on my deductible and I did not owe anything at delivery. Will I have to pay all these costs if Aetna does not have the same benefits or will they honor my old benefits for the rest of the pregnancy?

i went through the exact same thing when i had my daughter. my husbands employer switched insurance companies when i was 8 months along. the company that provided from the beginning covered me through the rest of my pregnancy with no problems at all. and good luck with aetna...we have that now. they wouldnt give me any information at the beginning of my pregnancy as far as coverage and then it started out to be okay but now, they have really screwed us refusing to pay things that should be covered. and now we are going through a problem with my drs office because of them. im 30 weeks along and i have to pay upfront the remainder of what the insurance wouldnt cover by wednesday or they will transfer my care. good luck!!!

Most of the time your current insurance would keep you under coverage untill after the baby comes. In some sates it is even illeagal for an insurance to drop you for ANY reason while you are pregnant. ...In the insurance world being pregnant is practically the same as a terminal illness....no one will pick you up. you should talk to human resources and have them check with your current ins as to what the policy sates.

Call Aetna.

They paid for my birth. I only paid one $15 copay
