Being offered a job; i want to negotiate to get health insurance included package. what should i ask for? If not already mentioned, you should ask what benefits the company offer and whether there is a qualifying time period before you receive them - a lot of companies will add you on after probation period is completed. If they offer private health care then you could ask if you can be included in this sooner than the end of your probation period, but a potential employer wouldn't have to agree and may well see this as cheeky. If you are healthy, I would obtain an individual HSA policy, and ask the employer to make non taxable contributions to my HSA account ($5,900 per year), and have the premiums deducted from my paycheck pre-tax with "list billing". "Does the company have a BUPA scheme for employees (or similar)." dont ask |
