Is $2,500 per month for health insurance a lot?

My parents pay $2,500 per month for their health insurance and $300 per month for my policy.

They never have any money left over after that and other past medical bills.

I want to get financial aid for college? Should I include that they pay that much for health insurance?

Why is it so much or is it normal?

$2500 per month is not normal unless one or both have an expensive medical condition and they're on a HIPAA compliant portability plan. If this is the case they will not be able to get a less expensive plan. If this is not the case they should visit a local agent to find the best plan for their situation. There is no extra charge using an agent. You could also probably find a less expensive plan for yourself.

By all means, include that information on your financial aid applications.

Health insurance is very expensive. It depends on how many people are on the plan and what it covers (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
I have insurance at my job and I pay $150 a month, but its just me on the plan for just medical and emergency stuff like that.

It sounds VERY expensive, but you might ask them about what it covers, etc. Also, when you fill out at FASFA for college, I'm not sure there is a sect. for that on the form. You might have to take out some loans or get scholarships to help you. You could get more $$ (financial aide/grant money) if you file as an independent for taxes I believe. If you work part-time during school this would probably work because you are "supporting yourself." This is what I do, and grants from the FAFSA cover about 70% of my tuition.
you should talk to your parents and your guidance counselor (assuming you are still in highschool) for advice

It depends on what their deductibles; copayments & coinsurances are. It also depends on their coverage. The $300/mo fo you is reasonable.

Re: Financial Aid, definitely include insurance premiums...don't know if school will consider it but you can't lose anything by including it.

Best of luck.

That is outrageous. Shop around and look for lower premiums.

2500 per month is awfully high... Shop around.
Try this one - http://healthplans.my-age.net - I personally have their health insurance for my family and parents... Just $600 per month for all family.

That is absurd. I would tell them about the health insurance costs, it could help them you out. Wow, I though 150 every 2 weeks was steep. Best of luck to you.

That is an awful lot of money.......................

Maybe You should try to google it first ,nonetheless, if you prefer some direct resource ,here might be helpful.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...
