How do u feel about people working full time in the USA and still being poor and without health insurance?

While CEOs and stockholders make millions. Don't tell me they need to invest. U can't save or get ahead on minimum wage!

HEY! i feel like you're describing me!!
...aside from the minimum wage part, that is... i'm still underpaid (i always will be, too :P), but my company couldn't live w/o me!

There are many factors involved.
I do not know any couple where both spouses
1, finished highschool,
2, are working at least 80 hours between them and
3, waited to have children till they could provide for them and are still poor.
CEOs make money according to what they generate for the company. Stock holders earn money in proportions to what they have invasted. Typical stock market return is 8-10! On the other hand you may also end up losing big time...like this year.
Poverty is not permanent. Most people start out with minimum wage jobs, then move up in the world and train themselves for better jobs.

Been there, done that. Worked my way out.

I was also in the Military and have used the VA hospital system so I know what Government sponsored health care is like.

It ain't easy to get out of that situation. For me it took NAFTA. When NAFTA passed the company I worked for shut down production and took it to Mexico so I became a displaced worker eligible for a an education grant while I was on unemployment.

Education is still the only ticket out of poverty.

Mis-education and supporting political parties that have engaged in genocidal politics like the support of slavery is the ticket to poverty and third world status.

Bye bye middle class! Without us, the economy is in the toilet. But republicans seem to forget that. They want to make our lives harder and the lives of the poor unbearable.

Even a family that lives off $50,000 a year/middle class can't do it anymore. Without a company that offers health insurance... every penny goes straight out the door.

$75 to fill up. Groceries sky rocketing. Insurance prices rising. Getting ahead is no longer the goal. The goal is to stay a float.

It's a shame. In the past, working hard, and education would give you the tools to be successful. We are the first generation to do way worse than our parents.

Things need to change. A 100 year war and tax cuts for the wealthy don't cut it for this hard working, well educated gal who spends more money on gas bills than on a mortgage.

learn in school. don't be lazy. Do like others did. Most college educated people who are 35 years old have excellent benefits and jobs. Learn from the paths they chose.

Oh... Dems say rich CEO's are "evil." Yet, Obama hired a CEO of Fannie Mae, who earned $21 Million, to help select his VP.

Absolutely hypocritical. Well, actually, Dems don't care about you or other poor people. They apparently just tell you lies you want to hear ... based upon their decision to have a $21 Mil. CEO select your VP. Dems must truly think (with good reason) that their voters are low IQ people since they say one thing to get your support and then do something else.

The vast majority of Americans who worked hard and went to college have heatlhcare. You Dems should learn from them.

Also you and your grandparents will freeze this winter and the next several winters as the Dems say they care about you but block ALL energy projects for the next 5 years. They care abou the environment --- not you. But, you'll vote for them.

People should do some reading. The health care crisis we have now is caused by the government. In the 70's they mandated employer sponsored HMOs and the cost has been growing by double digits ever since. There used to be a time when people paid for office visits and only had insurance for catastrophic illness. Isn't that the point of insurance? To minimize catastrophe.

A doctor just opened up a new clinic. It does not accept medicaid, medicare, insurance, HMOs, PPOs. As a consequence the clinic is not only profitable but only costs a whopping 35 dollars for treatment.

PS
I just came back from a business trip with a person from Canada. During the trip I asked him what he though of the socialized medicine program he had in in Canada. His answer: "Why do you think I work in America?"

It's depressing. There's a class war going on. There will be no more middle class soon, only the outragiously rich and the very poor. Pretty soon, everyone will be working for the rich and there will slavery all over again in this country, but it won't be based on race. The only color that's going to matter is green.

If you are 30 with 3 children and making minimum wage you certainly have managed to make serious mistakes.

Think about supply and demand....Dems want to give citizenship
to 12 million people, what keeps salaries low, a high labor pool.
the more people looking for a job the less the employer will have to pay

of course you can't save or get ahead on minimum wage. Buuuuuuuut, since even fast food restaurants pay more than that, and jobs like roofing still can't get enough workers at 12-13 bucks an hour......there isn't much of a right to complain about choosing to work a minimum wage job.

well my hubby and I both worked full time( hes a ret vet nam vet) and we both have healthcare, put 5 kids through college and still have money... I dont consider us rich but we arent poor either... Its a matter of choices.... but our kids didnt get play stations, cell phones, ipods etc...( mainly cuz they werent around but even if they were they still wouldnt have had em). like I said matter of choice and priorities

you could try to obtain as much as resource as you can by search the keyword in search engine,if you have good luck there, then your problem solved.however,if you could not find the answer by doing that, here is the relevant resource i prefered.http://health-insurance.online-tips4u.in...

I think it's unjust, and calls for a system of National Health insurance, now. The US is behind much of the industrialized world in that and many other regards.

Most manufacturing jobs start above minimum wages.
Most minimum wage jobs are service related or beginning jobs.

How does one go to school while working several minimum wage jobs?
It is frustrating considering we are the world's (supposedly) country

In this great country its your choice to be poor. Health care to me is a ridiculous issue anyway because you can't be turned down for health care....

Its criminal. I dont know when the US will wake up and realise that helping the weak benefits everyone. But everytime someone brings up welfarism they are labelled a socialist.

FURIOUS!! the middle class is disappearing and the middle class is the backbone of any strong economy.

Sad, if the government stopped stealing our money we wouldn't be poor and we would be able to afford health care. If you have skills your not going to make minimum wage.

Just do the right thing and bend over.

Heath insurance is not an entitlement..
That is the kind of thinking that got us in this mess to start with!

Go to school, work hard, apply yourself.........and you will do well.

The cons don't care about the working class. If you're a working class voter and plan to support McBush, just look at your bank account these days, look at your home value, look at your grocery and fuel costs. If that doesn't convince, you're a hopeless case.

I agree with you, YOu r absolutely right.

Universal Health Care is the way to go.
Even if you have insurance how many times does it not cover
what you need done.

I believe they are unknowingly slaves, to believe in the American dream you need to be asleep!

I think them CEOs should have all of that there money.
