Do you need travels health insurance if you are visitng the US from canada for 3 days? you don't need it, but I would recommend it. If something happens down there you will pay up the @ss in fees. I was in an accident last year in Jersey. The paramedics showed up. I told them not to look at me if it was going to cost. they told me it won't unless they take me to the hospital. So they looked at my burn and said "just keep it wrapped and clean and get some burn cream" the whole thing took about 4 minutes...IF that, 3 weeks later I got a bill for $250. OHIP (or whatevr provincial insurance you have) does NOT cover anything in the US. You do not need health insurance to come to the USA. If you have insurance, it'd be wise to contact them to see if they will cover you in the USA. You do if you get sick of injured. It's not a prerequisite to come here, but it's cheap enough. |

The key is to choose a well known and dependable insurance company and not a discount card or other scam. Choose a company like a Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, Humana, Assura... HEY! i feel like you're describing me!! ...aside from the minimum wage part, that is... i'm still underpaid (i always will be, too :P), but my company couldn't live w/o me! ... |
