Can health insurance brokers put there own group of people together for a better price.?

Someone told me to find a health insurance broker since i have none. And that they put groups of people together who needs it for like a group rate. IF this is so and you have more info with a web site please let me know.

my benefitsplus.com ask me to key in a number and when i key it in it still will not let me go any furher

You can't do that any more - put non-related groups together, and get a lower rate. That's because the higher risk people did it, which increased the claims of the group, which increased the pricing, which made the lower risk people drop out, which increased the percentage of less healthy people, which increased the claims of the group, etc.

The claims paid out spiral upwards faster than the premiums can, to cover the claims. But the broker is STILL your best bet, as they know who's got the most competitive plans in your area, AND, can help you balance premiums and coverages.

Yep, if you are putting together a group only for the sake of getting health insurance, then that is considered to fraudulent by the insurance companies. They will ask a lot of questions to make sure this is not occurring. You are better off shopping for an individual health insurance plan.

Most states have laws that prohibit anyone from forming a group solely for the reason for wanting to get a group health insurance plan.

While group health insurance plans have very minimal underwriting that is also the reason why group plans are about twice the cost of an individual plan with similar coverage.

Here is some more information about group health insurance:

Group insurance costs more than individual insurance so the answer to your question is "No they can't" and "no, you wouldn't want to." Group insurance has quicker and more lax underwriting, but they charge more since they're taking on more risk by doing so.

Insurance isn't expensive. Not having it when you need it is.

No. "Group insurance" is really a misnomer. It is really "employer sponsored health insurance". There are lot's rules governing eligibility. See link below.

It is possible to put together a "MEWA" (multiple employer welfare association). It takes a lot of cooperation with the employers, and at least 50 employees.
If you can do this, and are in Colorado, let me help.
