How can you get medical attention without health insurance ?

In the united states..isn't this virtually impossible..depending on what state you live in?

Simple - pay cash. It is actually preferred by any medical service. Some hospitals will negotiate a cash discount.

However, most of us aren't ready to pay the big bills. The advancement of medical services such as high tech diagnostic services have priced health care unbelieveably high. Since we pay for insurance, we expect it to cover everything.

The personnel required to file and process insurance adds to a physician's cost to running a practice. Thus your doctor has to include staffing costs in your bill.

Check in your phone book under community services for a list of free or reduced fare clinics. They do exist. If you can't find a particular listing, check with the United Way in your community.
