Is it normal for a day care provider to want a copy of my health insurance card?

It is a home day care lady and she wants a copy of my insurance card. Is she up to something?

is there anything she can do with my insurance information?

There's no reason for her to have this info.
I wouldn't give it to her.
If she needs the health ins. info, do like you do at schools, and just
give her the ins. co. name and your policy number.
That's enough to get treatments started if, God forbid, she has to take
your child for an emergency. By the time they start treatment, you should have been called to come to the medical facility, and you can do
all the paperwork when you get there.

Guessing they want to know what coverage the child has just in case they need to go to the ER and you aren't available.

Maybe you should ask them.

They may be asking in case your child get's hurt and needs to go to the doctor/hospital.

Sounds very fishy all she needs to do is her job then get paid the rest is none of her buisness

its probably for if your kid gets hurts she can bring that copy to the doctor.
