Does anyone know how it would be possible to get health insurance in tn.?

I've tried through DHS, and the health Dept. But they say since I'm not a single mother, I don't have breast or cevical cancer, and i'm not pregnant, that I can't get any of the health insurance they offer.
Here is my problem: I've been to the doctor(gyno) because i've been having a lot of lower abdominal pain that comes and goes as it pleases, nothing seems to help not meds heating pads or anything. I have had an IUD in place for almost 2yrs since have 2 kids and now he has me on birth control also to help with the pain(which it's not) I'm supposed to go back in about 3weeks to tell him weather or not this method is working. Then if it's not helping I willl have to get laproscopic donen to find out what the problem is and then take care of it with yet another surgery......which is good and all but...I have no insurance and would have to pay for the sugeries up front(which is impossible for me to do barley making it as i am)..................please if you can help me

Financial Assistance and Other Resources for People With Cancer:Cancer imposes heavy economic burdens on both patients and their families. For many people, a portion of medical expenses is paid by their health insurance plan. For individuals who do not have health insurance or who need financial assistance to cover health care costs, resources are available, including Government-sponsored programs and services supported by nonprofit organizations. Cancer patients and their families should discuss any concerns they may have about health care costs with their physician, medical social worker, or the business office of their hospital or clinic.

In 1946, Congress passed a law that gave hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities grants and loans for construction and modernization. In return, they agreed to provide a reasonable volume of services to persons unable to pay and to make their services available to all persons residing in the facility鈥檚 area. The program stopped providing funds in 1997, but about 300 health care facilities nationwide are still obligated to provide free or reduced-cost care.

Unfortunately, if you don't qualify for TennCare through DHS, if you go to any Insurance companies to purchase coverage a lot of them will not cover you for pre-existing conditions for a period of time (a year is common for a lot of things). The only way, I know of, to avoid this situation is to get a job with a company that offers group insurance. In employee group insurance plans they typically can not exempt you based on past medical history. You may still have to serve a waiting period the employer requires withou any insurance during that time. 90 days is very common, but not absolute for that waiting period.
when you go to dhs and reather you are pregant or not depending on how many ppl live with you and how much you and ur husband make it what that depends on you can try to get on blue cross or somehting like that and pay for your own ins. it shouldnt be much just look inb to helth ins places
Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options 4 U.

Hi there, not to worry! You can get affordable health benefits that offer an amazing hospital advocacy program (they can help if you land in the hospital as an emergency or for pre-planned surgeries, etc). Plus, you can have an entire household plan that includes your children and anyone else living with you for no more than $59 a month. There is NO waiting period and you can use it as often as you wish. I have this and wished I had found it sooner. It's what they call 'consumer driven health plan'. See what providers are near you here: http://youdeservehealthcare.com... and it also includes dental, vision, chiropractic, prescription. All on-going health conditions accepted! You even have a 100% 30-day money back guarantee, which is why I got it.

Best of luck to you,
Cindy
