Free health insurance is available to people who can't afford it. If your employer offered it to you free he would be paying you less. Sorry, not going to happen. Because you have a high salary you could afford to take a high deductible plan which will give a much lower premium. If you get a Health Savings Account - HSA you could lower your net premium even more with the tax deductions. I depends where you live, but I have many clients with HSA's where the tax deductions exceed the cost of insurance.
