If i recieve an inheritance, how would that affect my ssi & breast cancer health insurance?

If i recieve an inheritance, how would that affect my ssi & breast cancer health insurance?

It is income in the month received and a resource the month after. You would be ineligible for SSI in the month you receive it, and you could spend it down to under the $2000 resource limit. You must spend it only on yourself, or put it into an exempt resource, such as a home or car. Contact your local Social Security office for more details and exact facts. Source(s): www.ssa.gov
If at all possible don't tell anyone cause they will deduct what you get believe me if at all possible don't claim it on anything cash the check & put it in a safe if in a bank they can trace it.I know this has happened to My Aunt she ended up only getting her SSI but only a quarter of it then she had to pay for all her meds & lost her insurance as well as her medicare.Good Luck
it would depend on the state you live in
