How long does it normally take for your application to be approved for personal health insurance coverage?

They try to do it in thirty days, however, it can take longer due to obtaining the necessary doctors reports. I have seen it done in fifteen days and as long as five months. It also depends if you are going on a group plan or as and individual...Good Luck....
From your question, I can't tell if you have applied for coverage already or are just exploring. In answering, I'll assume you have no coverage and have not applied.
The direct answer to your question is that it can easily take 3 to 6 weeks and sometimes longer.
Don't wait!! If you are not covered by health insurance, get short-term insurance from the industry leader. Short-term insurance is a great way to save money and you can get coverage with no delay - as soon as the day after you apply. There is no "network" with short-term insurance either - you go to whatever doctor, hospital or pharmacy you pick. For short-term health insurance from the industry leader, go to http://www.wavehelp.com/short-term-medic... That will get coverage NOW and at a price lower than the more common perpetual insurance. The short term insurance will need to be "rewritten" usually annually because the policy will expire and will need to be replaced. This is easy to do but you need to pay attention and get it done so that there is no unintended lapse in coverage.
Perpetual or "regular" insurance never expires. If you keep paying the premiums, the insurance stays in force automatically. But, it is more expensive. If you want to have this kind of insurance, DON'T WAIT. Get short-term first (for immediate coverage) and then apply for the regular insurance. There will be a delay because the insurance company takes its time evaluating whether to issue a policy and what to charge. After the new policy issues, read it carefully to be sure you like the coverage - if so, just cancel the short -term policy and you are all set. If you don't like the regular policy, return it for a refund of the premium you submitted with the application and keep the short -term in force. Go here for information about regular insurance from the same company http://www.wavehelp.com/health-insurance...
Best wishes.
