Have a very painful kidney stone for over a week. he has no health insurance or money. help? |
been to 2 emergancy room, sent home with few vicedent for pain and must wait for it to pass. i'm in great deal of pain, can't eat or sleep. any idea HOW to ease my pain or dissolve it? Most states have some type of indigent care. I live in Texas and while in college had this exact thing happen to me and I finally had to go through that indigent care system (also, many hospitals often have these programs too but you have to call their business office and ask for it). Call your county or parish hospital district or health clinic. The stone did eventually pass, but it took a LOT of drinking and pain meds. Vicodin may not cut it. I feel for you, good luck! Source(s): personal experience. you need to drink a ton of water, that really is the only way to speed up the process to dissolve it or pass it. To ease the pain I would stick with some ibuprofen at least 800mg to stop the pain. DRINK UP!! lots and lots of water, it will help your over all health in general and help with this process. BEST of luck i know personally how much pain your in! This may not do it, but the girl is right. You need to drink lots of water, and only water. Dark liquids (coffee, tea, colas, etc.)make it worse. Good luck. This happened to me about 2 years ago and I know how much pain you're in. When you went did they give you an ultrasound to confirm that indeed you have a kidney stone and how large of a stone it may be? Some stones have to be broken up before they can be passed.
