I'm pregnant. What kind of medicines can I take for headaches, colds, etc.? I don't have health insurance. If you are pregnant and don't have health insurance, you absolutely must apply for MEDICAID. You need to have regular checkups during your pregnancy. If you can go to a clinic, then ask the doctors what medications you can take during your pregnanc. Talk to your doctor before taking anything. When I was pregnant, I was told that I could only take Tylenol. But you need to make sure that's ok with your doctor. When I was pregnant my OBGYN said I could take Advil and Tylenol. He also said plain sudafed was okay to take for a cold. Contact your obgyn before taking anything as every woman and pregnancy is different. Husband is a family practice doctor. You as a woman, assuming you are in the US, automatically have health insurance through your state when you are pregnant and even afterwards until you are able to afford it on your own. So will your child. Please, go to your local health department to apply for this. It is important to go to your prenatal visits to ensure the health of both you and your baby. As far as medicines, my ob/gyn told me Tylenol for headaches, and regular Sudafed for allergies, sinuses, or colds. Your health department can set you up with a doctor's office who will tell you more. Good luck and congrats |
