Is Planned Parenthood a good place to get gynecological health care when you don't have insurance?

Hi, My best friend just ran out of insurance, she was covered under her parents and her current job doesn't offer it to her, and she needs to get a gynecological check up to get a Pap Smear, etc... Is Planned Parenthood an afforadable option for her to go to? Please only serious responses. Thanks.

Planned Parenthood is one of the best places to go. They are right up there with the bigitme gynecologist and keep informed about all the perscription medications that may intefere with birth control. Usually all the Planned Parenthood locations have at least one day of the week that you can go in for a full exam for free. If I remember right they also have a deal of asking how much income you have and if you have nothing they will provide all services for free in order to keep as many women as healthy as possible. Check out the web site I have given you it should inform about this sort of stuff. Source(s): www.plannedparenthood.org
Thanks for seeing my answer as the best! I wish you and your friend good health!

Planned parenthood is a great place to go.
I would suggest calling them up because they price their services on a sliding scale for various incomes. Does your friend go to college? If she does then most colleges/universities have an on campus student health center that can provide free to low-cost OB services.

There's always the option of contacting your county's public health department to see what kind of facilties or resources are available as well. Good luck to you and your friend.
its cheaper than doctors and they took good care of my daughter and she has dodged the bullet of cervical cancer with their help.
