Is there a list of 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidates who support single-payer health insurance? Hmmm... would be interesting. The only thing we're hearing about is Universal... Would be nice to have options.... but I do support Universal. We're just getting to a point in the US where we can't let the big companies rule over us like an Orwell novel... we have to start imposing some rules on the pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies or everyone who is not a millionaire will die slowly and painfully... that is not an exaggeration.... Kucinich favors a single-payer plan funded in part by a 7.7 percent employer payroll tax, while Moseley Braun said health costs should be borne through income taxes in order to eliminate the link between health care and employment. Single-payer health insurance . . . educate me, Senor Squirrel. I've heard nothing of this idea. Got links? EDIT: I just read the added details. I guess I need to read up on this working for a health insurance company and all (which doesn't truly matter as I'm quitting soon). What I'd heard from a former Canadian is that the SARS outbreak was made worse by the Canadian health care system. They have to wait longer for health care, so it spread faster. I have no idea how true that is, but as I have nothing else to go on, I'm game to hear why you like it. |
