I guess Americans are dumber and Dummbber Next thing we will believe is HMO's can do a better job than the VA Or how about replace all Army Doctors with a HMO service Republicans demand that they get same health care that our Iraqi wounded get! Which means all they get is a band aid... If President Frankenstein Cheney is feeling generous that day.... Have good friends in Canada, they come to the USA for specialized health care since it is very hard to get a consultation with a specialist without a GP sending you even if you want to pay for it yourself. I was born and raised in Europe,some relatives just went back home to Europe after visiting me here in the USA, during their visit we had to make an appointment with a specialist for my husband's back. They were amazed that we were able to get him an appointment within a week. This is not always the case of course sometimes it will take 6 to 8 weeks or even longer to see a popular specialist here but my sister assured me that it is rare (not impossible) to ge an appointment with a specialist in less than 3 or 4 months in her country and you HAVE to be referred to by a GP. It seems that many Americans-both dem and rep-have fallen for the propaganda being forced down their throats by those in America that put profits ahead of health care. Sure, there could be wait times for some things, but it's not unreasonable, considering we don't pay a penny. I would rather wait 3 months to have my sore back looked at or whatever than to have to pay. There are no wait times for illnesses that require immediate attention, like cardiac care or cancer treatment. Universal healh care is probably the #1 thing I love about Canada, although it is just one great concept that makes up our great nation and that makes our nation so great. It's comforting to know that I will be completley cared for by my government if I were to have helath issues. It also makes me feel proud to be Canadian knowing that even the poorest person, living on the street can get the exact same quality of care as myself or a CEO of a company would receive. Canada turns 140 today. Happy birthday Canada! Happy Canada Day to all! |
