Any recent studies or research involving heart disease?

For my assignment the teacher asked us to respond to this question:
Current event: is there any current research or new information about it.

If somebody can give me a good source of information that answers this question well(meaning it is something new and interesting), they'll get 10 points.

Hypoplastic left heart syndrome likely caused by genetic factors

This is a complex and rare combination of heart defects I only recently learned of when my daughter was diagnosed pre-natally. Babies only started surviving with this condition in the last 20 years or so. The oldest survivors are still in their 20's. I'm not sure if you can message me or something on here, but if you email or message me I'll give you my daughter's blog address if you need an actual example of a HLHS survivor or anything.
