Why dont eskimos get heart disease? |
what is it in their diets that stops them from getting it? i thought it was fish.... is it? The fish they eat is the reason. They have less heart attack (clotting of blood vessels of the heart). As the other answerers mentionned the basic reason is the fish in their diet. This causes the triglycerids level and their arthrosic index to be low, which is very healthy. Tryglicerids are saturated and unsaturated fats. You could call them good and bad fats. One kind is from animal origin in the diet , the other is from vegetal origin. The bad condition which is called hyperlipemia is or was totally unknown in the eskimo communities, they did not even presented a rare subtype: malignant hyperlipemia. So eat more fish guys. Fish, whale meat, and seal meat are all the correct answer, but an equality important question is "why?" They get 80% of their calories from saturated fat. This must be a paradox because it does not fit the present day mis belief about saturated fat. Same for the French and they do not eat that much fish. HMMM, must be a paradox. Wait, I know, they drink a lot of wine. No, that can't be right, it must be the antioxidants in the RED wine. Nooo, wait, maybe it is the aspirin they take for all those wine hangovers. And just who says they don't get heart disease? It's assumed that because they do eat a lot of fish that they don't but no such information has ever been recorded. It could well be the very active lifestyles they live or simply that it's unreported. That is what i have heard also. They eat a lot of fish in their diet. If you look on the web eating a lot of fish is good for the heart and eyes and skin! They have a lot of fish in their diet . Fish is good for the heart! We can get the same if we eat salmon a couple of times a week .No fried foods! If you don't like fish, take a fish oil supplement. No red meat! they eat a lot of Vera Lynne Pie also known as whale meat again. lots of fish. THATA EASY ITS THEIR WAY OF LIFE.
