Cirrhosis/ascites & heart disease?

My dad has cirrhois of the liver with ascites and heart disease and would like to know how much time he has left and what are the measurements to make him comfortable in his last days? He is 81 and not a canidate for a liver transplant.

Your father's doctor or a hospital case worker can help you with the specifics of your father's health and how to care for him. Find out if he was assigned a case worker at the hospital. Look in his paperwork, ask him, or call the hospital and ask the nurses on the floor he was assigned.

You may also consider calling a hospice and find out if they have literature available so you can give him the best care. I applaud your effots to care for you elderly father sick father. Not everyone has someone to love them when they are on the decline. I'll add both of you to my prayers.
