Dental plaque and heart disease link? |
I have seen sites that state this, but is there any Medical study? There's plenty of fact based peer reviewed research articles on any connections to poor oral health and heart disease (and much more), in the source link below. PubMed is the same medical article storehouse used by the medical professionals. If you need the facts about current treatments and more, that's the place to research. Source(s): http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query... There probably is a medical study. Yes,heart disease and having periodontal problems increases the likelihood of heart attack. I heard a dentist on the radio speak of this. I can't quote the study, but it appears that gum disease allows bad bacteria to get into the blood stream and that can cause heart problems. |
