Does menopause increase my risk for heart disease? From everything I have read, heart disease is linked to insulin overproduction. Menopause does not cause that, but the slowing down of estrogen production may allow insulin to overproduce more. Insulin overproduction is being seen by some experts as one of the causes of aging.
