Does anyone know what diabetes medication has been recently linked to heart disease?

avandia for type 2 diabetes...it has been links to an increased risk of heart attack and heart related deaths. the FDA has issued a "safety alert" but NOT a recall.. talk to your doctor if you are taking this medication especially if you already have heart problems. Source(s): http://www.drugrecalls.com/avandia.html...
they think avandia can cause heart disease. but they are not positive yet
Avandia. It's also in Avandryl (a combination of Avandia and Amaryl) and Avandamet (a combination of Avandia and metformin.
Avandia and possibly Avandiamet
I would not recommend Glucophage to give my dog ..That drug has caused people to loose their limbs , I am a diabetic on insulin!! Glad to be , them pills are no good!
Troglitazone (Rezulin) associated with liver failure and heart disease. Avandia is associated with myocardical infarction and sudden death. Glucophage is okay, so far. Nothing's conclusive at this time.

Personally, I agree with the PharmD.
I'm a nurse.
