Welcome to the wonderful world of menopause. You'll be getting them quite often plus the night sweats and hot flashes during the day. Good luck! Source(s): experience RN
Perhaps a little anxiety attack..
Usually without reason...
Don't worry be happy, at least you know your heart is working!
What food? what kind of HOT drink did you have? it can be anything, too much salt? try pick your PRE SLEEP ritual a makeover maybe you rare doing something that your body kinda, dislike!!!??
Sounds like Panic attacks usually at night is when is trigger, since our bodies is at rest our brain sends out chemicals that are trigger of around our bodies to produce these "scary" feelings. Anxiety works differently for everyone should take in consideration talking to your doctor about any anxieties. Maybe worrying that is something greater that is not is affecting you. consider your options, If your doctor has not mention stress or irregular heartbeats consider a second opinion It can be anything including high blood pressure.
Did you also have an echo cardiogram test done? This could be a symptom of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea affects overweight people with short necks, or skinny people with recessed chin. It causes daytime sleepiness and wrecks havoc on your heart. Of course it could be other causes to such as low potassium or magnesium. What does your doctor say?
high blood pressure?
