Is there a foolproof non invasive investigation available in India to rule out ishchemic heart disease?

Is there a foolproof non invasive investigation available in India to rule out ishchemic heart disease?

Unfortunatly there are not non-invasive tests that are 100% conclusive when it comes to ishchemic heart disease. Even the results from a heart-cath are subjective, although generally this test considered to be the most conclusive procedure for determining the extent of ishchmic heart disease.

There are two simialar tests which are generally accepted to be quite reliable in looking for coronary blockages. 1st, there is a nuclear stress test which would be my personal choice if I were to be tested for heart disease. It involves being injected with a mildly radio-active isotope and taking two sets of pictures of your heart. One set of the pics is while you are at rest, and the other is after you have stressed your heart while briefly getting on a treadmill to increase the heart rate and blood flow. In the event you are unable to get on a treadmill, there is a drug which is administered to artificially increase the heart rate and blood flow. These two sets of pictures give the docs. some good diagnostic info. to work with. The test also indicates your hearts ejection fraction, a very important number that if below normal ranges is a strong indicator of heart disease. Your ejection fraction indicates what percentage of blood from your heart is pumped with each beat, with numbers under 50% indicating that there may very well be a blockage. The other test is a high speed CT scan, commonly called a cat scan, looking for calcium deposits in your arteries. The CT scan is less expensive and time consuming than the nuclear scan, but provides less data. In the event that either of these tests were to indicate a blockage of significance, the next step would be to have a heart catherization to see if stents, angioplasty, or a bypass would be advisable. If your looking for a non-invasive test for ischemic heart disease, I highly recommend that you pursue having a nuclear stress test. Feel free to email me if you would like further info. Best of luck to you. Source(s): I was formerly employed with a medical clininc that did diagnostic tests of the heart.
Yes.. that is what I have been told. Latest MRI machines are able to do a 100% noninvasive investigation of your heart. You do not need to puncture a vein for inserting a catheter or inject dye into your blood stream. I am given to understand that the new Apollo Hospital and the Wockhardt Hospital in Bangalore (both near IIMB, Bannerghatta Road) are equipped with such machines. Check it out. Best of luck!
Yes. Go for 3 dimensional cardio vascular cartography test. It takes about 20 minutes, non invasive, gives about 11 page detailed psysiology of your heart. The cost may vary from Rs. 5000 to 7000 depending on the city you are in.If you need more details on cartography, send me an email on subbie19@mtnl.net.in
This could be done by going back to the old school technology.
Two step stress test.
make up a set of steps (two steps high) hence the name.
Have the person connected to the ecg if possible or have a bed there and the tech ready for the ecg. Have the patient go up and down the set of steps until they are feeling they can't do any more and have the ecg recorded.

If you see st segment depression there is ischemia...
