A disease is any abnormal condition of the body or mind that causes discomfort, dysfunction, or distress to the person affected or those in contact with the person. Is heart disease not an abnormal condition?

it depends exactly what you are referring to because there are some diseases of the heart muscle - same as in every other organ. Often disease is another term for dis - ease [dis - wrong/not, ease - referring to something that is 'at ease']. Hope this helps.
