For someone who has hepatitis C and they want to detect their viral loads in their bloodstream? |
Can someone explain to me what is the normal viral load and high viral load. I will gladly appreciated. As Bayla and Stephanie said, there is no "normal" viral load. A viral load of less than 1,000,000 (or by some scales 800,000 IU's) is considered low, anything over that is considered high. However, it is very typical for people with hepatitis c (HCV) to have viral loads in the millions and tens of millions. There is no correlation between your viral load and how much damage has occurred to the liver, but there is a correlation between the viral load and how probable it is to clear the virus on treatment. That doesn't mean someone with a high viral load won't clear the virus; it just means they may have to be on treatment for a little longer time. Hope this helps. Best wishes. When one has HCV infection and it is chronic active, it doesn't really matter what sort of viral load you have-there is no such thing as a normal viral load because you have HCV infection. a normal viral load? |
