Is it possible for two people of the same sex to catch hepatitis c ? |
specifically two females.... Hep C may survive on countertops for a time but that does not mean it is infectious to you! There needs to be blood to blood contact. If it were as easy as countertop contact, I would have gotten hepatitis about 3000 patients ago! Do not share needles. Do not snort drugs, do not share razors, do not share toothbrushes. Do not do IV drugs, these are the major risk factors. I would not expect you to transmit HCV sexually. Yes Yes absolutely!! Certainly. only if blood to blood cross contamination happens, ie, the infected blood enters the blood of the other through an open wound. Hep C is spread through blood to blood contact ONLY. The only way you can get Hep C is to have DIRECT contact with an infected person's blood. Meaning that the infected blood MUST get into your bloodstream. |
