Clinical Diagnosis of Hepatitis?

Hi, I want to ask that if a patient comes to my clinic with jaudice and abdominal pain, Lfts show raised ALT and Bilirubin.
How can i differentiate that wether its Hep A, HepB or HepC ? Should i go for all the tests for example Anti HAV IgM, HBsAg, and AntiHCV because sometimes patients are too poor they cannot afford these investigations, or may I cllinically differ these types, Kindly reply me in detail, As this may help me in my clinical practise Thanks.

and once If I diagnose Hep A, What supportive traetment should i give for the patient at home, as if i tell patient that books say that Hep A dont needs treatment then patient will not be satisfied? Thanks

There is clinically no way to differentiate between the different types of hepatitis.
With Hep A the usual applies. Rest, hydration, and avoid anything that can stress the liver (alcohol, APAP). This is what I say: In this case, the infection will go away on its own, and the body is usually strong enough to recover on its own, and it is best that we let it do that. Drugs really won't help that much and will just give you added expenses.

You are a doctor??? I would think most doctors would know how to test for different types of hepatitis. Hep A generally has fatigue, appetite loss, jaundice, fever, diarrhea, and is contracted thru contaminated food or water, and infected feces. It will generally run its course and disappear. There is a vaccine for it.
Hep B, may not have symptoms, there is a vaccine also for it. It can also run its course, but sometimes needs treatment like interferon.
Type C sometimes has flu like symptoms at the beginning, but generally are ignored and called the flu. There is no vaccine for this type and no cure, although treatment with interferon and ribivirin can lower viral loads to 0. The disease can be caused to resurface from severe illness or extreme stress.
All types affect the liver, and type C can cause liver cancer or cirrhosis of the liver
In Hep B if the anti-hbc is positive, they have been exposed to the hep b virus
If the Anti- HCV is positive, they may be infected with Hep C

Please don't treat patients because if you have to ask these questions, the diploma mill you obtained your degree from wasn't worth the money you paid for it.

Hepatitis (plural hepatitides) implies injury to liver characterized by presence of inflammatory cells in the liver tissue. Etymologically from ancient Greek hepar (畏蟺伪蟻) or hepato- (畏蟺伪蟿慰-), meaning 'liver,' and suffix -itis, denoting 'inflammation' (c. 1727[1]). The condition can be self limiting, healing on its own, or can progress to scarring of the liver. Hepatitis is acute when it lasts less than 6 months and chronic when it persists longer. A group of viruses known as the hepatitis viruses cause most cases of liver damage worldwide. Hepatitis can also be due to toxins (notably alcohol), other infections or from autoimmune process. It may run a subclinical course when the affected person may not feel ill. The patient becomes unwell and symptomatic when the disease impairs liver functions that include, among other things, screening of harmful substances, regulation of blood composition, and production of bile to help digestion.
