How long does hepatitis a stay in the body?

How long does hepatitis a stay in the body?

forever.

For life.

The body does build immunity against another type-a infection, but any blood test will show hepatitis antigens (exposure to). You should not donate blood.

average incubation period for hep A is 28 days, then you are ill (maybe) for 2-6 weeks, then re-occurance can happen for the next 6-9 months(symptomatic), then you recover as your body fights it off, then you keep your antibodies forever, which make you immune for the rest of your life.
So basically you have it, or rather the antibodies for life.
