Hepatitis and nursing homes?


can you get hepatitis from working at a nursing home?

anyone can get hepatitis (of any kind) just about anywhere. it is not just isolated in nursing homes or hospitals.

hep a you can get by eating food contaminated by fecal matter, but you can also pick it up other ways.

hep b you can get by having sexual intercourse and can even get through other bodily fluids.

hep c you can get by blood to blood cross contamination. it is not usually spread via sexual intercourse and it is NOT spread by eating or kissing or hugging.

hep d you wont be able to acquire unless you have hep b.

hep e is spread like hep a.

hep g is rare in the united states.

hep b and c anyone can have- it doesn't matter how old or young you are. babies can be born infected. these two do not discriminate against anyone. you could be infected right this very second with hcv and not know it, hep b as well.
